In Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Minas Tirith was realized as a massive 1:72 scale "big-ature" standing approximately 20 feet tall and sprawling across a 30-foot diameter. This incredibly detailed model allowed for sweeping cinematic shots and intricate lighting effects that would have been impossible to achieve with standard miniatures or early 2000s digital effects alone.
