The sunken battleship USS Arizona is the most prominent ship beneath the surface of Pearl Harbor. It was sunk during the attack on December 7, 1941, and remains submerged with over 1,177 sailors and crew members still aboard. The USS Arizona Memorial was built above the wreckage as a tribute to those who perished. Another battleship, the USS Utah, also remains underwater at Pearl Harbor. | Simple History
